Need To List Your Home For Sale? What You Want To Know First

Jeffery Wright

If you've been browsing homes for sale in the area and you are worried that your home isn't going to sell quickly when you list it, it's time to get professional real estate agent advice. You want an agent to help you get rid of the house you're living in at top dollar, and then to get into a new property while making a reliable investment. Here are a few tips to discuss with your agent to get rid of the house fast.

Always Prep Before Pictures

Don't just get some pictures of the house for your real estate agent to upload to the site. As soon as someone sees the pictures they will have that impression of your house, and they may never click on it again even if you change things. Do the following before taking pictures:

  • Landscape
  • Declutter the house
  • Add fresh light neutral paint around the home
  • Put modern fixtures and décor throughout

Even if you have to take off some of your old bedding, change out the curtains, and do a few other things, the modern touches and finishes may be what gets people into your home.

Offer Open Houses

Some sellers don't like the idea of having strangers wandering around their home, especially since your agent may not be able to personally escort each one around. However, open houses are a great way to get people into your house that maybe wouldn't have set up an appointment with a realtor, or that maybe didn't know it was for sale. Have more than one if needed to get lots of traffic and interest.

Utilize Social Media

If your agent has your house listed on the company website, share it on all your social media sources, like Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to name a few. This way your friends and family members can share it as well, creating a lot of buzz, clicks and interest. You may have a follower that is your future buyer and you don't even know it.

If you are wondering how your house will compete with the other homes for sale in the area and you want to get rid of your property fast so you can move into a bigger or different house, get a real estate agent and get the help you need. Agents have marketing tools throughout the agency they work for, with their agency website, and through their personal business connections, so getting an agent is the best option.

About Me
buying a home from a distance

Searching for a home a hundred miles away from where I was previously living was hard. There was no way for us to take a trip up to see every single house that we found online to see first-hand the condition that it was in and how big it truly was. I had to find a real estate agent that I could trust to help us find several houses to make a trip up to see in a single day. I created this blog after going through the buying process and making the move. It is my hope that if you are buying a new home far from your current one, that the tips here will help to make it an easy transaction for you.
